Land of Whisky

A region within a region! Speyside playing host to over half the distilleries in Scotland has the greatest concentration of malt whisky producers compared to every other whisky region including the Highlands, The Lowlands and Island of Islay.
The region takes its name from the sparkling River Spey, which runs through the area, and you’ll find the majority of its distilleries such as Macallan, Knockando, Aberlour, Balvenie, GlenLivet, Cragganmore and another at least 40 more in the beautiful glens surrounding this bubbling water source.

The whiskies include some of the most famous producer in the world, such as Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, but also a number of hidden gems.

Generally the whisky from Speyside is reasonable light with pronounced malty flavours and sweetness and they sit somewhere between the lighter Lowland whiskies and the richer, sweeter Highland Whiskies.
