Join us for an evening of Indian Whisky with Shilton Almeida UK Brand Ambassador for Award winning Paul John Whisky.

The evening will involve tasting of 5 different single malt and 5 course meal. Each Whisky is paired with speiclally designed dishes by highly skilled Chefs at The Boot Room Restaurant & Venue. 

Created at distillery based in Goa, a vibrant state on the western coast of India, Whiskies have no artificial colours or added flavours and are all non-chill filterd. Shilton will take you thorugh the tasting, and how it all started back in Goa.

The Boot Room is a hidden gem and one of a handful of truly independent restaurants within Leicester City Centre where you’ll enjoy the best ingredients cooked and delivered in a modern British style. It clinched a coveted recommendation in The Michelin Guide every year since 2011.

1st course 

Smoked haddock soup 

Homemade soup with smoked haddock, croutons and chives. 

Or

(V) Parsnip soup 

A smooth soup made with parsnip and parsley

 

2nd course

Scallop with medley leeks and bacon

A pure delicacy. Scallop on bed of leeks and bacon finished with balsamic glaze. 

Or

(V) Tempura Halloumi, chilli sauce

Cypriot cheese battered with a special batter deep fried, served with sweet chilli sauce

 

3rd course

Roast loin of venison, haggis ravioli, and whisky cream sauce  

Venison loin cooked pink served with homemade haggis ravioli finished with Paul John whisky cream sauce.

(V) Spicy 3 bean casserole, basmati rice

A traditional casserole recipe with boot room twist combining 3 beans in a rich tomato sauce.

 

4th course

Cranachan

A Scottish classic version of Eton mess

 

5th course 

Selction of 2 cheese, crackers and chutney

British cheese served with crackers and apple, ale and chilli chutney
